Davis History

Brooks Motor Products Ltd. began business on October 16, 1989. The dealership operated at the original Stafford Drive North location for nearly 10 years until our move to our present Crowsnest Trail East location on October 1st, 1999.

John Davis is the President and Dealer Principal of the company. John started his automotive career as a partner in his father's (John Sr) dealership in Fort Macleod in 1975 and John became sole owner of the four line dealership in 1985 then subsequently moved to Brooks in 1989.

The family tradition continues as sons Tim and Mike have taken key roles in the operation of the dealerships. In 2003 Tim became fixed operation manager overseeing the parts and body shop departments while continuing to manage the service department. At the same time, Mike took on the role of general sales manager and leader of the new, used vehicle, and lease departments. In 1996 John purchased a Chevrolet Dealership in Westlock, Alberta which his partner Todd Ducharme now operates. John's third son Luke is currently a sales manager in Westlock.

On January 1st of 2004, the General Motors dealership in Barrhead, Alberta was purchased and merged with the Westlock dealership and is operated by Todd Ducharme out of Westlock. Previous to this merger, Westlock was a Chevrolet franchise and Barrhead a Pontiac Buick GMC franchise. Now both dealerships sell all four main GM lines: Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Buicks and GMC trucks. Westlock Motors Ltd. is the corporate name and Barrhead operates as Grizzly Trail Motors.

Davis Pontiac's new Image 2000 facility is the culmination of several years planning and eight months of construction. The building has many features that make it special, including the attractive, bright and open showroom; the spacious customer lounge; a two bay indoor car delivery area; a three lane indoor service reception area; a fully equipped parts pro shop; cashier desk; a body shop counter; and a cafeteria for employees and customers.

The service department has 15 bays plus a two bay quick lube. The body shop is state of the art including environmentally controlled prep areas and a full bake spray booth. The building boasts a four bay detail area for washing, shampooing, polishing, undercoating and also chip and dent repairs.

The visibility and accessibility to our new dealership is exceptional.
